Frequently Asked Questions
Hair transplant surgery is a customized procedure, and the cost can vary depending on several factors. Geographic area, the experience and qualifications of the surgeon, the type of procedure (FUT or FUE), the number of grafts required for the surgery are some of the factors that can affect the cost. Therefore, it's important to have a consultation with a qualified and experienced hair transplant surgeon to discuss your individual needs and goals.
There are two techniques FUE and FUT
FUE is minimally invasive procedure there are some minute spots which are barely visible
FUT one end up having a thin fine line and because of tricophite closure this line is majorly not visible and hair grow through the scar tissue. Scarring is not a major concern rather over harvesting through any technique might lead scarring .
During hair transplant surgery (which lasts for around 10 to 12 hours) you will feel pain only for 10 to 15 minutes in total. After this you will not feel any pain and the whole surgery will be relatively painless. So the pain during the surgery is mostly because of the anaesthesia injections.
After surgery, patients feels slight discomfort after surgery therefore some medications are given along with some pain killers
There is temprorary shock hasir loss which can be seen over the recipient site but this resolves after some point of time patient may still continue losing his natural hair after hair transplant because it doesnot provide any immunity to exsisting hair. If the hairloss is progressing in patients he has to take mediciene (option of microdosing is also available)to sustain his exsisting natural hair and even the transplanted hair thickness and these patients may need support of midicines.
New hair growth will begin to emerge from the transplanted follicles. Initially, the hair may be thin and fine, but it will gradually become thicker and more visible over time , noticeable results within three to six months after the procedure, with full results typically visible within 12 to 18 months.
Transplanted HAIR are relatively permanent than the exsisting hair. However, patients may continue to loose his exsisting hair and sometimes even the thickness of transplanted hair can be affected and they can go thin.
As a general rule of thumb, the redness tends to last 10-14 days. It can rarely last 6-8 weeks after hair transplant surgery especially if you have lighter coloured skin. There is a option of non shaven hair transplant also which can minimise social down time post hair transplant and can help patient to rejoin his work quite soon.
These common side effects happen in more than 1 in 100 people.
• problems getting an erection and less interest in having sex
• problems with ejaculating, such as little or no semen
Serious side effects are rare and happen in less than 1 in 1,000 people. Some people may notice these side effects after taking finasteride for a few months.
• any lumps, pain or swelling in your chest area or discharge from your nipples – these may be signs of a serious condition such as breast cancer
• unusually low mood (depression) or thoughts of harming yourself
Serious allergic reaction
In rare cases, finasteride may cause a serious allergic reaction (anaphylaxis).
These are relatively permanent hairs as they are tsaken from safe donor zone. If hair are extracted from unsafe donor zone especially when we are aiming very high number from FUE only this can happen . so, in this condition may not last long even the transplanted hair taken out from safest donor zone can thin out over a period of time b yes thinning can be noticed over a period of time.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) are both hair transplant techniques that have their own advantages and disadvantages, and the best technique for a particular person may depend on their individual hair loss situation and goals.
FUE involves extracting individual hair follicles from the donor area (usually the back or sides of the scalp) using a small punch tool and then implanting them into the balding areas of the scalp. FUE is less invasive than FUT, with no need for a strip of skin to be removed from the donor area, and can result in less scarring and a quicker recovery time. However, FUE can be more time-consuming, and the yield of grafts extracted from the donor area may be lower than with FUT.
FUT involves removing a strip of skin from the donor area and then dissecting it into individual follicular units, which are then implanted into the recipient area. FUT can be a quicker procedure than FUE, as more grafts can be harvested at one time, and the yields can be higher. However, FUT can result in a longer recovery time, and there may be a visible scar where the strip of skin was removed.
In summary, both techniques have their own advantages and disadvantages, and the best technique for a particular person will depend on their individual hair loss situation, personal preferences, and the expertise of the surgeon performing the procedure. It is important to consult with a qualified hair transplant surgeon to determine which technique is best for you.
Medicine sometime are needed incase patient’s hair loss is progressive although the dosage can be coustomised according to the need and concept of miocrodosing must always IS KEPT IN MIND NOT every patient undergoes hsair transplant needs medication. Medicine can improve thickness of transplanted hair as well as non transplanted hair . they also can give you soften hair in hair zone thus making hair transplant looks much better .
Sometimes excessive amount of usage medication caN create gap between expectation and reality . therefore, dosage of medication in hair teansplant must be coustomised.
