Dr. Shaiil had slight broadening of forehead, which has been there for more than a decade. At the age of 44 years, he thought of filling it & getting a designer hairline for himself. Being a pioneer in this field, he obviously knows everything & is friends with a lot of good hair transplant surgeons across the globe.
He obviously wanted the best solution for his problem & didn’t want to compromise at all regarding the technique and the team which does it. He had chosen DSFT (Direct Stimulated Follicular Transplant) technique, which is Dr. Gupta’s own advanced version of FUE technique. He put his faith in team Satya, which has been working with him for last 10-15 years.
They did a wonderful job. 1300 grafts were done by DSFT(FUE) technique & the entire surgery was done without shaving the head, only the donor area was shaved off, which can be easily managed with a buzz cut hair style.
The grafts were used to lower the entire hairline, temple areas were also addressed on both the sides. In addition to that the hair were also implanted in the thinning transitional areas as well.
Dr. Gupta chose FUE technique for him because, FUE gives us advantage to choose multigrafts & the grafts of FUE also have less fat tissue in them, so it is easy to pack them dense as compared to FUT. Moreover the graft requirement was also less, so FUE was the ideal method for him.
At the age of 44 years, Dr. Gupta’s hair on the back side are good & he is not on any medication. That means the chances of sustenance of the results in his case are very high & he has a good donor.
But we would like to emphasise here, as Dr. Gupta always says, both FUT & FUE are darlings & his babies, he loves them equally and they should always be chosen keeping the patient’s interests in mind.

Now 10 months into his hair transplant Dr. Shaiil Gupta is not on minoxidil or finasteride. He is just taking HAIR-ART kit, which is a nutritional supplement, created by Dr. Shaiil Gupta himself.
So it is not important to start finasteride from day one to all the patients, which may not be in the interest of all the patients. But yes clinics are definitely benefited because of prescribing finasteride. It no doubt improves the thickness & results. But they are not going to stay permanently.
As soon as the patient stops the medicine, there will be severe hairloss & it is not justified to put the patient on risks of medicines for your photo opportunity. If needed at all finasteride can be added later on at low dosage.
